The Dawning of the Day

This was a prompt in February of 2024. It is a reality everyday and I am grateful.

Joy in the Morning

Living, loving, trusting THE BOOK
Brings joy in the morning.

"Forgive as you are forgiven"
Brings joy in the morning

"Be not weary in well doing"
Brings joy in the morning.

"Yield not to temptation"
Brings joy in the morning

"Do not let the sun go down on your anger"
Brings joy in the morning.

"Live a life worthy of your calling"
Brings joy in the morning.

"Choose this day whom you will serve"
Brings joy in the morning.

"Give thanks in every circumstance"
Brings joy in the morning.

Not freedom from conflict or absence of sorrow,
But joy in the morning.

Not temporary happiness or clear understanding,
But joy in the morning.

Not life without problems or pain,
But joy in the morning.

Maybe not twenty-four hours,
But joy in the morning.

Processing a Book without an Author

Is there a book without an author?
I know of a wordless book.
And speech without sound.
There are anonymous books
With unknown authors.
There are compiled books
with many authors.

What about me?
Am I a book?
Perhaps a contributor among many
With the influence of people and time,
Environments and events,
Culture and Christ.
With chapters beginning and ending
Without a prepared outline.
With an introduction I don't remember.
With a conclusion I can't envision.
With characters not of my choosing.
With a plot I didn't write.
With someone else numbering the pages
Just as my days and numbered
By One Greater than me.

Who is writing the words?
What is my title?
Who is my audience?
Who are my readers?
How can I know?

You say there is a clue?
An Author and Finisher of my Faith,
Who writes not in ink but in the Spirit,
Not on tablets of stone
But on the human heart,
To be read of all men.
It is too wonderful to comprehend!
